Book Review:

 

A stolen identity, loads of danger, lies and deceit, and a bitter love triangle! Set in New York during the American Revolution, Veronica Rossi’s Rebel Spy is a riveting espionage romance that you won’t want to put down. I loved every page of it.

The premise of the story: in real life, General George Washington employed a network of spies in the American fight for independence. One of these was known simply as “355 – the Lady”. No further identity was ever discovered. In Rebel Spy, Rossi imagines who this mysterious agent might have been, what motivated her to put her life on the line, and what she may have contributed to the struggle against the Brits.

Jessica Spotwood (A Tyranny of Petticoats) calls it,

“Fierce feminist historical fiction! Impeccably researched and irresistibly told.”

I call it “a rip-roaring good time”.

Recommendation: If you like excitement and intrigue with your romance, this could be your new favorite book.
