Christmas 2022 is in full swing, and it can be a hectic time. If you feel the need to cozy up with some cocoa and a Christmas read, why not try the graphic adaptation of Charles Dickens’ timeless classic ‘A Christmas Carol’? Of course, we have the novella as well, but sometimes it’s fun to take a fresh look at an old favorite.

In case you’ve been living under a literary rock and aren’t familiar with the story, here are a few highlights. Ghosts! Time travel!! Scrooge - the evil main character that you’ll love to hate!!! And a happy ending!!!!

And if you’d like to see the story in all its cinematic glory, why not check out the 1951 movie starring Alistair Sim. This is the most popular, and arguably the finest film adaptation of the story every made. Christmas horror at its best!!

Free Speech in Canada

 Book Review: “You can’t have a democracy if citizens can’t propose new ideas and vigorously debate them… In 2024, the Trudeau government proposed Bill C-63, the Online Harms Act, which is perhaps the biggest threat to free expression in Canada in decades.” (Free Speech in Canada p.5, 18) Not only in Canada but throughout the western world, new hate speech laws are being enacted that are saddling citizens and journalists with huge fines and even jail time just for things they are saying and/or posting online.
